Founded in 1936, the White Rose Orchestra toured rural NSW and QLD for over 40 years. Frank constructed a recording studio on his property, 'Kilara', and produced many records from there.

Jack Renshaw- State Premier


Jack Renshaw - State Premier
Jack was the youngest Shire president at the age of 31, followed by State Member for Castlereagh, and in 1964 became the Labor Premier. He was also NSW Treasurer from 1976-80. Our main street is named in his honour.

The Shiralee


The Shiralee filmed in Binnaway
In 1956 several scenes of the Australian classic film, 'The Shiralee' were shot in Binnaway. Many locals appeared alongside Peter Finch and Bud Tingwell. Many photos of this event are on display at the Shiralee Royal Hotel.

Railway Barracks


Rail Heritage
Binnaway Rail Station and Depot serviced over 20 steam engines in it's heyday. There is still a great love for the rail in Binnaway, with the Rail Heritage Group enthusiastically restoring the Barracks and other infrastructure.

Binnaway Cemetery


Cemetery
Binnaway Cemetery was dedicated on 11th of March, 1881. Since 1991 the cemetery has undergone extensive restoration with community fund raising providing money for grave plaques and shrubs.

Old Binnaway Inn


Old Binnaway Inn
Built in 1870, the building is still standing and is currently a private residence.
