WHERE IS BARADINE? Baradine is a small rural town in north-west New South Wales, Australia.
|
A LITTLE ABOUT BARADINE Coming from an Aboriginal word meaning 'Red Wallaby', Baradine is an area full of surprises.
With its carpet of vibrantly coloured wildflowers in the springtime, the vast array of native wildlife (especially the large koala population and over 240 species of birds) to the scenic picnic spots in the Pilliga State Forest, Baradine is the perfect place for anyone wanting to escape to the tranquil settings of the Australian bush and to experience a taste of true country life.
Baradine
is situated 493 km NW of Sydney and is 47 km from the township of
Coonabarabran.
Officially proclaimed a town on March 20, 1885, Baradine and surrounding district has since seen the settlement of sheep and cattle graziers, wheat farmers as well as those working in the forestry and timber milling industries. With a population of around 800 residents, Baradine is the quintessential close-knit and hospitable country town.
Baradine welcomes you and hope that you will come and explore our area and enjoy the many attractions that we have to offer.
